As a medium-sized company, we develop and produce high-quality technical parts and assemblies made from thermoplastics and thermosets, often combined with metal insert technology. Our partners are leading names in the automotive and electrical industries, who value KNIPPING’s expertise, precision and reliability. With over 900 employees at six locations in Leingarten, Talheim, Gummersbach, Ottendorf-Okrilla, Mexico and Hungary, we generate a revenue of approximately 170 million euros and are shaping the future of plastics technology.

Our History.

  • 1959

    On October 15, 1959, Mr. Arnold Knipping founded KING PLASTIC GmbH in Gummersbach. The company started with just one injection molding machine, which was placed in a small corner of the Arnold KNIPPING screw factory. Initially, it produced plastic packaging and cap covers for screws.

  • 1992

    Purchase of the GESSMANN company in Leingarten — today KNIPPING KUNSTSTOFFTECHNIK GESSMANN GmbH.

  • 2000

    Foundation of the plant KNIPPING KUNSTSTOFFTECHNIK AUTOMOTIVE GmbH in Großröhrsdorf/Saxony. Since 2011, KNIPPING KUNSTSTOFFTECHNIK KING PLASTIC GmbH in Ottendorf-Okrilla.

  • 2004

    Acquisition of STRÜBER GmbH & Co. in Talheim.

  • 2011

    Merger of KNIPPING KUNSTSTOFFTECHNIK Automotive GmbH and Spritzgießtechnik GmbH into KNIPPING KUNSTSTOFFTECHNIK KING PLASTIC GmbH.

  • 2012

    Merger of the companies GESSMANN and STRÜBER into KNIPPING KUNSTSTOFFTECHNIK GESSMANN GmbH & Co. KG.

  • 2015

    Establishment of the subsidiary KNIPPING AUTOMOTIVE S.A. de C.V. in Huamantla, Mexico.

  • 2016

    Establishment of the subsidiary KNIPPING AUTOMOTIVE KFT. in Szigetszentmiklós, Hungary.

  • 2021

    KNIPPING NEW MOBILITY was founded to develop balance-of-plant components for the cathode subsystem of PEM fuel cells.
